FC Porto player Acknowledges Arsenal’s Luck in Champions League Shootout Victory over Porto
Pepe disclosed that Porto had aimed to neutralize Martin Odegaard during their recent Champions League encounter against Arsenal. Despite securing a 1-0 win in the first leg, Arsenal managed to level the aggregate score with Leandro Trossard’s goal at the Emirates Stadium in the return leg.
Following a deadlock after 120 minutes, Arsenal secured their quarter-final spot through a penalty shootout, with David Raya saving two Porto spot-kicks. Odegaard played a pivotal role by providing an exceptional assist for Trossard’s goal. Pepe, who delivered a stellar performance in Porto’s defence, admitted their strategy was to silence Arsenal’s captain.
