In a triumphant display of skill and dominance, the English side, Manchester City clinched the Club World Cup trophy with a resounding 4-0 win against Fluminense. Julian Alvarez played a pivotal role in the victory, scoring twice, while Phil Foden’s precise strike and an unfortunate own goal from Fluminense’s Nino sealed City’s triumph in Saudi Arabia.

The game kicked off with a spectacular start as Alvarez found the net just 45 seconds into the match, capitalizing on a rebound from Nathan Ake’s shot that had struck the post. Fluminense’s woes continued in the 27th minute when Foden’s cross forced Nino into an own goal.

Foden, displaying exceptional individual prowess, added to the scoreline by tapping home a cross from Alvarez, who himself sealed the victory with a late finish from the edge of the box. However, City’s celebration was tempered by Rodri’s injury, as he limped off the field with a knee issue shortly after City’s third goal. Fortunately, Rodri assured post-game that the injury was not serious, alleviating initial concerns.

Despite the injury scare, Pep Guardiola celebrated his 14th trophy as City’s manager, with Phil Foden rightfully earning the title of Player of the Match. The only blemish on City’s successful night was Rodri’s injury, sustained from a rough tackle by Fluminense’s substitute Alexsander.

In terms of player ratings, Foden’s stellar performance earned him a rating of 9, with other standout contributions from Ake, Grealish, and Alvarez. The match saw City’s ingenuity on display, with Foden involved in various goal-scoring opportunities.

Guardiola expressed immense pride in the team’s achievement, emphasizing the unique mentality that has driven City’s success. Captain Kyle Walker echoed this sentiment, recognizing the difficulty of consistently winning in football’s current competitive landscape. Walker commended the collective effort, not only from the players but also from the entire team behind the scenes.
