“I don’t want to leave” – Spurs player rejects the idea of leaving Tottenham despite huge bids from foreign clubs

According to Voetbal Primeur, Tottenham Hotspur player, Bryan Gil is reportedly hesitant to depart Tottenham Hotspur this month, despite Feyenoord’s ongoing attempts to secure the winger on loan. Several Italian publications, including Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, have recently emphasized Fiorentina’s eagerness to secure Gil on a loan deal.

However, it isn’t just the Serie A club eyeing the 22-year-old, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on January 9. Feyenoord is also expressing interest in bringing the Spaniard to De Kuip. The Dutch club faces challenges in the coming weeks due to the absence of Ayase Ueda and Alireza Jahanbakhsh, representing Japan and Iran at the Asian Cup, respectively. Yankuba Minteh from Gambia will also be away for AFCON.

In light of these absences, Arne Slot’s team is reportedly eager to reinforce their attacking options and has set their sights on acquiring Gil. Despite the player’s limited role under Ange Postecolgou at Spurs, it is claimed that he is “reluctant to leave” Hotspur Way during this transfer window.

Contrary to the previous two seasons, where Gil seemed eager to secure a loan move in January due to dissatisfaction with his playing time under Antonio Conte, the current scenario suggests a change in perspective. The 22-year-old appears content under Postecoglou’s management and possibly believes he can assert himself into the Australian’s starting eleven.

Spurs Web provides an opinion that reflects this transformation, noting that Gil, who once seemed desperate for a loan move, is now among several players enjoying their time under Postecoglou. This newfound satisfaction with his role at Tottenham might be a key factor influencing Gil’s reluctance to depart Hotspur Way during the current transfer window.

In conclusion, despite interest from clubs like Fiorentina and Feyenoord, Bryan Gil seems determined to stay with Tottenham Hotspur, signalling a shift from previous seasons where he actively pursued loan opportunities. The player’s positive experience under Postecoglou’s management likely plays a pivotal role in his current decision-making process.
