Tottenham Hotspur’s winger has reportedly submitted a formal request to Daniel Levy expressing his desire to leave the club. As per Estadio Deportivo, the 22-year-old has conveyed to the board that he is not inclined to go through another loan arrangement unless it includes an option for a permanent transfer.
Since his €25 million move from Sevilla in the summer of 2021, where Erik Lamela was part of the exchange deal, Bryan Gil has encountered challenges adjusting to English football. His stint at Spurs has involved consecutive loan spells to La Liga clubs Valencia and Sevilla during the winter transfer windows.
Unfortunately, his current season with Tottenham has been marred by a pubic bone inflammation injury, sidelining him for eight games. Despite recovering, Bryan Gil has found it challenging to make a significant impact under manager Ange Postecoglou, featuring in only nine league games, predominantly as a substitute.
The recent acquisition of Timo Werner adds further competition for Gil, as the German forward is expected to occupy the left side of the attack, a role he demonstrated in his debut against Manchester United. Werner made a notable impact, providing an assist in a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
In light of these developments, Gil envisions his next move to be permanent, seeking to end the transient phase in his career and focus entirely on succeeding with a single club. A recent report suggests that Spurs are open to considering offers for him, indicating that the club no longer sees a future for the talented winger.
