Arsenal’s quest for a striker has led to widespread speculation, and the prospect of securing Kylian Mbappe’s signature would undoubtedly be the headline of the summer transfer window. For years, Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, currently plying his trade at PSG under one of football’s most lucrative contracts.
However, surprisingly, Arsenal has emerged as a potential destination for the French superstar. Recent reports have hinted at Arsenal’s interest in Mbappe, with the player himself not entirely dismissing the possibility of joining the north London club.
Naturally, Mbappe would be a welcome addition to any team. Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah expressed his admiration for Mbappe, labeling him as the best player in the world currently.
In an interview with Sky Sports over the weekend, Nketiah, alongside teammate Emile Smith Rowe, was posed with the question of who he believes is the world’s best player. Without hesitation, Nketiah singled out Mbappe.
“Mbappe, probably the best in the world right now. How direct he is, how dangerous he is in and around the box, the quality in the final third I think he’s the best out there,” Nketiah remarked.
Interestingly, Nketiah’s praise for Mbappe comes from a player who would likely face significant competition if the French sensation were to join Arsenal. Nevertheless, Nketiah acknowledges Mbappe’s exceptional talent, recognizing that he operates on a level above many others in the game.
While the likelihood of Arsenal securing Mbappe remains slim, his potential arrival is a dream scenario for Gunners fans. His addition would undoubtedly evoke comparisons to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, envisioning Mbappe as a transformative figure at The Emirates.
