“Don’t sign him, you may not recover from bankruptcy” – Paul Merson warns Arsenal against signing skilled player whom he describes as ‘Unplayable’

Arsenal’s interest in a skilled premier league striker, Eberechi Eze has intensified in recent months, with the midfielder consistently impressing for his current club. Reports from November indicated that the Gunners are among several clubs monitoring the progress of the 25-year-old England international at Selhurst Park. As Arsenal aims to strengthen their midfield, Eze stands out as one of the top performers beyond the traditional big six in the Premier League.

Valued at £50 million, Eze showcased his skills by scoring a brace in a 3-2 victory over Sheffield United in the Premier League. Assisted by the equally impressive Michael Olise, Eze’s contributions propelled Palace six points clear of the relegation zone. Arsenal legend Paul Merson, speaking on Sky Sports News during the transfer deadline day, praised Eze’s performance, stating that with Eze and Olise on the pitch, Palace’s chances of relegation are slim.

Reflecting on Eze’s journey, one cannot help but wonder if Arsenal regrets releasing him from their academy, only to witness his rise to stardom. Conversely, Palace made a shrewd move by acquiring Eze from Queens Park Rangers for a mere £20 million in 2020. Eze has evolved into an outstanding player with a promising future.

While a January transfer for Eze might pose challenges for Arsenal, given the speculated value of over £50 million as suggested by Chris Wilder, the course of the season will unveil potential developments. If Palace faces struggles and risks relegation, other clubs may express interest in acquiring Eze. However, Eze remains committed to contributing to his current team’s success, minimizing the likelihood of a departure.
