DONE DEAL!! Tottenham finalizes the exit of its long-serving player who is in the process of undergoing medicals in his new team

According to the Daily Mail, there are indications that Tottenham Hotspur’s defender, Sergio Reguilon, is on the brink of finalizing a loan move to Brentford following an agreement between the two clubs. Reguilon, who was on loan at Manchester United, returned to North London after the Old Trafford club exercised a break clause in the summer deal earlier this month.

During his temporary stint at Manchester United, the 27-year-old Spaniard featured in 12 matches, including a recent appearance as a late substitute against Nottingham Forest. His signing by United was prompted by injuries to the club’s left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

However, with Shaw and Malacia nearing full fitness, the decision was made by the former Premier League champions that Reguilon was no longer required for the remainder of the season. This development has now paved the way for a potential move to Brentford.

Brentford finds themselves without their primary left-back, as Rico Henry sustained an ACL injury earlier in the campaign. As a result, Reguilon is anticipated to undergo a medical with Brentford tomorrow, to complete the switch.

Tottenham’s head coach, Ange Postecoglou, made the determination shortly after he arrived at the club that Reguilon was surplus to requirements. The emergence of Destiny Udogie, who joined the club from Udinese, further solidified his place in the starting eleven under the Australian coach.

Sources suggest that the formalization of the deal is expected to occur tomorrow once Sergio Reguilon, the former Real Madrid player, completes the required medical assessments with Thomas Frank’s Brentford side.
