CONFIRMED REPORT – Arsenal finally decides to part ways with its first-choice striker this summer as a £50 million price tag is on him in the transfer market

Arsenal has made the decision to part company with striker Eddie Nketiah, but only if they receive the desired transfer fee of €50 million.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Gunners are willing to sanction Nketiah’s departure, as he does not feature prominently in Mikel Arteta’s plans. The North London club has set a valuation of €50 million for the 24-year-old forward.

Nketiah’s rise through Arsenal’s ranks has been swift since joining the first-team squad in 2019. Despite primarily featuring as a substitute, he has amassed 163 appearances for the club, contributing 38 goals and 10 assists.

Although he has been a valuable squad player over the past two seasons, particularly in a rotational role, Nketiah’s future at Arsenal remains uncertain. Arteta does not view him as a key figure in his plans, casting doubt on his prospects of becoming the club’s first-choice striker. Arsenal is in the market for a top-quality striker and is actively seeking a new number nine.

The decision to offload Nketiah reflects Arsenal’s determination to capitalize on his sale and reinvest the funds in accordance with Arteta’s vision for the squad. As an academy graduate, any transfer fee generated from Nketiah’s sale would be recorded as direct profit, aligning with the club’s commitment to Financial Fair Play regulations and providing financial resources for new signings.

While a fee of £30 million plus add-ons seems reasonable, alternative options such as a swap deal or loan move to the French league have been suggested. A change of scenery could potentially reignite Nketiah’s form, allowing him to rediscover the goal-scoring prowess he displayed earlier in his career. Addressing concerns about his tendency to drop deep, a return to his instinctive “fox in the box” style of play could rejuvenate his confidence.
